Visualisations enable an opportunity to look at future hopes / intentions so as to prepare for the future, address anxieties and how you wish to become. The aim is to embody the intention so as to assist with working towards your goals and future self. This is approached through visualisation that addresses anxiety in the moment.
Having a range of easily accessible resources is key to feeling in control of yourself. In the session we will look at what you need and together, we will decide on a plan so as to create a bespoke approach to increasing your sense of self, confidence and reduction of anxiety. Whilst still client informed this method takes a more passive approach for the client in contrast to psychotherapy which is much more dialogic.
Visualisation utilise the subconscious, your imagination, your intuition, they embrace the power of creative visualisation so as to find ways to talk your wise self and discover your hidden inner wisdom through compassion and imagery. These journey’s can be very powerful and enlightening. Discoveries from these visualisations are unique to the individual and often uncover insights into your subconscious such as through imagination and sometimes spontaneous body sensations. They can be incorporated within your psychotherapy session or as a stand alone session depending on your preference/situation. Taking time out especially if you have been feeling stressed, anxious, over worked, can be a helpful way of offering yourself time, to feel calmer and more composed.
